How to be smart on your online business

One of our clients takes her coaching to online business, and she immediately got a client for a 6-coaching session in two days.

We have recently launched a website for our client and during a couple of days after launching was like euphoria both for the site owner and me.

She receives an email via her contact form a few hours after she told the world that her website for her business is up and running.

On the second day, she got herself a 6-session coaching time with the Children’s Aids Services.

What just happened doesn’t happen every day when a new business owner like her launch their website and open it to the public

I am sure that some of you have your own experience when it comes to launching your website for your online business. And what you had is far from this story. You have got your website up and then what?

I have read most online business owners asking for help on social media, complaining that there is no traction and having a website is such a waste of money, it does not add any traction to their effort or business.

Honestly, I have to question that effort. Are we going to call being on social media, complaining about “something does not seem right” on your business and asking 4000+ members of the group on how they do it?

I am sure most of us wasted our time reading comments and waiting for more people to answer our post and we realized that none of the replies we received help because we will move on to another group and asks them to respond to the same question again and again and again.

3 Reason’s why your online business might fail even after you launch your website.

  • You have no idea who you want to sell your product or services with.
    If you know who your products or services sell it for, you are off to a great start. Knowing who you dedicate all your marketing effort is having a clear vision on how to reach your goal and succeed early in the stage of launching your online business.
  • You are not solving any problems at all.
    Creating a business for yourself means you are solving a problem that no one ever has done yet or you have a greater approach to solving someone’s problem. Ask yourself this, “what problem that you are solving for your ideal customer?” Knowing this right off the bat will give you an opportunity to set goals and start your marketing efforts.
  • You are in wrong topic or industry.
    Like other online business owners, you are building a business because everyone is doing it. You want to pursue something that you don’t care about or have no idea even a single thing about it because someone said that there is money in it. Why don’t you step back and look at it from the outside? Is it worth the time learning about it? What if you learn more of something that you interested in?

 

If you are trapped between this reasons, don’t worry, it is not the end of the world and the fact that you are reading this, there is hope, and as long as you know that you are struggling, that means you’ll find a way to get out of this trap.

I suggest earlier that you might want to step back and probably sit on it. If you want to write a reflection about your experience, that might be a perfect idea. Because the second time you act on your business, you can compare your new experience from the last time you worked on it.

Here is a strategic step to overcome all your struggle. You don’t need to start over again since you have a website already, you were part of many groups, but I advise that you pick the groups that you are part of because not all groups are created equal.

  1. First, define your target market for your products or services.
    Some call it persona. It might be a daunting activity for you. It did for me when I was at school studying web design and development. But hear me first, it might be boring as heck, but this is the foundation of everything marketing. I am sure you need to market your business, and you will thank me for this.Your market profile aka persona is your customer, and they have a strong inclination that they will buy from you.You have to ask yourself these questions:

    • Who are they?
    • What is their gender?
    • Where do they live?
    • What do they like?
    • Know what things they enjoy doing?
    • What motivates them?
    • What are their pain points?
    • etc..

    The idea here is you have to know the distinct characteristic of your market before you can sell them, you’ll never know that along the line, you can create a great product for your target audience.

  2. Next, create a SMART goal for your business
    SMART goal means **Specific, MEASURABLE, ATTAINABLE, REALISTIC, TIME-BASED** goals. These are goals that you know you can accomplish at a given period of time. It is practical and quantifiable. You are not shooting for the moon here. Always think about where you at this point of your business. You don’t want to set a 6-figure revenue when you are just starting out no matter what industry you are in.
  3. Always make your website the center of your marketing strategy.
    Some say that social media is the best marketing you could ever have to get more clients. I will not contest to that except, I believe that social media is one of the tools for marketing strategy.Your website is still the authority when it comes to conversion. If your social media leads and other marketing funnel meet at the center of it all which is your website, of course, you are surely creating a powerhouse business.
  4. Then, use content marketing as your primary strategy.
    Your website is up and running. Unless you start posting regularly on your company blog though, you will get no traction in your business. Your content is one way to tell your readers and search engines that your website is a valuable resource in your industry. It’s either you can write it yourself or hire someone who can write for you. Someone who knows your business inside and out. Don’t forget to add a call to action at the end of your blog posts.  Every blog posts should have a goal, whether it attracts, nurtures or convert your leads to a buyer.
  5. Finally, don’t forget to share your content on your social media.It’s okay to share cats videos on your social media.  Personally, I’d rather use this tool to share my content to the world. Social media like Facebook is not for personal use at all. Most of all, Facebook is the best place for you to share your content. While you’re at it, you can always make it work for your business too. Finally, you can lead your social media followers to visit your site and read your content every once in a while. Make them stay, read your stuff, and hopefully, you get their emails. Your friends and followers email is the best way to introduce your product and services. In your email, you can introduce your product and services.Social media is the great place to meet people. But it doesn’t help when you spend all your time asking groups on why your business is not working. 30 minutes a day is an advisable time for you to spend time with your connections. You can respond to posts and connect with people.

Isn’t it amazing that if you will spend time building your business with smart strategies, it will eventually help you closer to your audience?

If you follow these strategies, you will start brand awareness of your business to your audience. I am sure they will enjoy the product or services that you craft for them. Nurture your leads and make them the ambassador of what you offer in the future.

Now, going back with my client who just launched her website. She immediately enrolled a customer that pays on the second day of her website launching. She immediately shared her new website to her connection on Facebook, got an email from her reader right away. As a result, she did a fantastic job marketing her business right off the bat!

She then emailed her contact/possible clients. Eventually, one of her contacts response that led to a 6-coaching session to an established organization.
